How to cut a lock into a wooden door: the organization of holes under the handle and the mechanism of the castle, The next step, which follows the marking of the doorway, involves the execution of holes under the handle and the mechanism of the locking device. This process is also divided into several stages.
First, you need to prepare a tool that will be used to organize the holes. The easiest way to do this work is with the help of screwdriver and a special nozzle (crowns on wood). The hole for the mechanism of the locking device is made on the flat surface of the door. And first it is necessary to make a deepening on the outside, and then on the inside. This procedure will avoid damage to the electronic screwdriver.
The crown is used to arrange holes under the core and handle. Installation on the door of the lock mechanism is made using another nozzle – a feather drill. It is used to make a hole for latch on the end of the canvas. It is important to remember that the drill must be immersed in wood at right angles.
Then you need to remove the tool and use a construction knife to remove the outer layer of wood in accordance with the marked lines. After that, using chisel you need to organize a groove for the rigel. Its depth should not exceed the width of the frame of the rigel. At the end, the latch is installed and fixed with self-cutters.
Then you need to attach the locking mechanism to the lines and mark the bottom edge of the device. Next, you need to spread the bar. The distance in this case corresponds to the thickness of the castle. Two parallel lines are marked after the wiring, which should be perpendicular to the horizontal straight at a distance of 5 cm.
Note! The accuracy of the measurements affects the correctness of the lock and the handle in the interior door. Errors in the markings lead to various problems that prevent the normal operation of the locking device. The lock is installed on the left side of the door. At the same time, it is necessary to clearly outline the central point.
Next, you need to mark the positions in which the latch and handle will be located. The return hole on the door box is then marked.
